Tonight after yoga:

Girl: You have amazing balance!
Me: Thanks. It's the only thing in yoga I'm actually good at.
Girl: Well how did you learn it?
Me: I pretended to be a flamingo every day at recess from ages 5 to 7. I had great balance but no friends. Ok bye!

[I've learned to be a flamingo, but I will never learn to not be awkward]

Ken Caryl Valley

Boulder Valley

[conversation with star dust]

driving between valleys listening to Bon Iver
sitting on foothills, watching the sun sink through the rain
damaging then using disposable cameras in hopes of creating something different out of the heavy and permeating nostalgia of this place that is my home

today I am 23 years old [and I am so full, and I am so hungry].
Two June videos that fill me with joy:

Sometimes you go to your old favorite coffee shop and you hear the people behind you speaking the names of kids you went to high school with and you don't turn around because that life isn't yours anymore, and you never really knew the people speaking anyway and you remember why you HAD to walk away from all of this, even though everything you knew & loved, know & love, started here in this town.

[If you hadn't done what you did, you'd have been 22 yesterday.]
And who would want to leave this world anyway?

we’re savage high
we finally cry
oh and we don it
because it’s right

Saw this movie today:

I won't provide anything in the way of a review, but I will recount my absolute favorite part [which will require a very small summary of two key plot points]:

The main character [Gil] travels back in time from 2010 to the 1920's in Paris. He meets Zelda and Scott Fitzgerald. Zelda is about to commit suicide by jumping into the river because Scott is off somewhere drinking and flirting with a woman and Zelda insists he's falling in love with said woman. She thinks Scott doesn't love her anymore. Gil says, "oh, he does. He loves only you." Zelda asks, "how do you know?" Gil answers, "oh. Trust me. Oh. I know." If you know anything about Scott and Zelda, and if you know anything about me, you know why I am drawn to this short exchange.
Found him this morning in my neighbor's open garage.

Mid day coffee break at Buchi.

I used to live here.
And this kind of thing used to happen frequently. It seems Sketchville is just as sketch as ever.

[Remnants of] Denver Gay Pride

My city is full of music.

Also hot tub & late night food run & Little Miss Sunshine.
