What I am scared of:

1. TB being in Iceland for three weeks.
2. N leaving in three weeks.
3. Not knowing when I am going to be in New York next.

What I am listening to:

At Mount Zoomer Wolf Parade
Attack & Release The Black Keys

Things I can't get over right now:

1. Pandora for my iPhone. I mean, I will stay up until 3 or 4am listening to my Acorn radio station.
2. "Testify" by Carney from the Paste 44 sampler. I can't even explain this one.
3. Christian Bale. I have become obsessed with the idea of a Christian Bale Edward Norton film. I mean, come on-Patrick Bateman and the narrator. I'd call it Explosions in the Foreground. Long story there...
4. my GRE vocab cards.
5. the Poop Ship Destroyer shirt I bought at the Ween show. Ohh oh oh. You heard me.

Just a couple things from last night that I collected:

"Stor is a god of piles and a pile of gods"
"Technically is the best kind of right"

July, July

... never seemed so strange

Tuesday, July 8, 2008

By God, I looked out of my window at 1:42 this morning and a black leather chair was sitting next to the metal bus stop bench out side of The Bank. There is extraneous furniture OUTSIDE of The Bank! This could be the best moment of my life. That would make me someone kind of strange, but I'm just saying, it could be...

I am a person who puts on a jacket over their pajamas and stands in the middle of the street in the middle of the night taking pictures with a point and shoot, you know, in case you don't know me.

My insides are so excited, they might just go have a picnic.

This is a mix for when it's summer and you want the windows down when you're driving at night through the mountains or on the highway, but it's just a little too chilly so you put the heat on and roll down the windows anyway. And in your rear view is either a city or not a city, depending.
  1. Dents - The Acorn
  2. Carnage - Bela Karoli
  3. Skinny Love - Bon Iver
  4. Holland - Sufjan Stevens
  5. Grapevine Fires - Death Cab For Cutie
  6. California One/Youth & Beauty Brigade>Ask (Live) - Colin Meloy
  7. Denton, TX. - Damien Jurado
  8. Garden - Gregory Alan Isakov
  9. Seaweed - Fruit Bats
  10. Bandits - Midlake
  11. Tape Machine - Hello Kavita
  12. Sea Horse - Devendra Banhart
  13. The Promise - Sea Wolf
Maybe it's short. And doesn't have the kind of justified flow you're used to. But sometimes things fall together.

And you care because it's beautiful.
